Buying cannabis in bulk · Canada

Canna Whole Salers

Per-gram price falls fast with quantity, then stops falling. Knowing where that flattens out is most of what bulk buying is. Here is the shape of the curve, what quantity is worth it, and how to store what you buy so the saving is real.

Where the price breaks are

QuantityGramsTypicalPer gramVs. single gram
1 gram1$10$10.00
Eighth (3.5g)3.5$30$8.5714%
Quarter (7g)7$55$7.8621%
Half (14g)14$100$7.1429%
Ounce (28g)28$160$5.7143%
QP (112g)112$480$4.2957%

Indicative mid-market figures for illustration, not a quote — prices move constantly and vary by grower, grade and province. The useful part is the shape: most of the saving is already banked by the ounce, and the step from ounce to quarter pound buys far less than the step from eighth to ounce.

Before you buy quantity

Cannabis degrades

THC converts to CBN over months. A quarter pound you take a year to finish is not the bargain the per-gram maths says it is.

Buy one first

Never take volume on a strain or a shop you have not tried. The saving on a batch you dislike is zero.

Store it properly

Airtight, dark, cool, around 60% humidity. Not the freezer — trichomes go brittle and shear off.

Split the buy

Bulk pricing is worth most when several people share it. It also caps what one bad batch costs you.

How we write

Prices here are indicative and move constantly — always check the shop before you buy. Where a shop we link to is one we have a relationship with, that is disclosed. Nothing here is legal or medical advice.
